Cooking with kids during lockdown

It can be difficult to find an occupation for our children, especially now.

So why don’t you make a little use of your little private kitchen brigade to help you behind the stove?

Here are a few recipes that are quick and easy to make with your children. So simple that even Daddy can get involved.

 

Microwaves shirred eggs

Five minutes preparation, One minute cooking time

Ingredients:

  • Eggs ( 1 or 2 per persons)
  • Ham or Chicken breast
  • Fresh cream
  • Grated Swiss cheese
  • Salt & Pepper

Preparation:

  1. In a microwave-safe ramekin, spread the fresh cream.
  2. Crumble over the ham in more or less large pieces according to your taste.
  3. Break the egg and remember to pierce it with a toothpick or the tip of a knife. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle with swiss cheese. Cook in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes depending on the power of your microwave.
  5. Enjoy !

 

Quinoa nuggets

Fifteen minutes preparation, Twenty minutes cooking time

Ingredients (four persons) :

  • 2 Chicken breast
  • 120 gr / 4 oz of cooked quinoa
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 gr / 3.5 oz of flour
  • Salt & Pepper

Preparation :

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C / 400°F
  2. Cut the chicken breasts into pieces of the desired size for the nuggets.
  3. Place flour, beaten eggs and quinoa in 3 separate shallow plates.
  4. Dip the pieces of chicken breast successively in the flour, in the eggs and then in the quinoa. Make sure that the chicken is well covered.
  5. Place on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and place in the oven for 20 minutes.

 

Farfalles Pasta with ham and peas

Ten minutes preparation, Thirty minutes cooking time

Ingredients (four persons) :

  • Farfalles 500 gr / 17oz
  • Green peas 200 gr / 7 oz
  • 5 slices of Ham
  • 1 onion
  • Half a cup of liquid fresh cream ( 10 cl )
  • Olive Oil
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & Pepper

Preparation :

  1. Cook the pasta. In the meantime chop the onion and fry it in a little olive oil.
  2. Cut the ham into small cubes. Add them to the onions, then after 5 minutes, add the green peas.
  3. Season with salt and pepper and cook over low heat for 20 minutes.
  4. Drain the pasta. Add the cream to the preparation. When it starts to boil, mix the pasta with this preparation and serve immediately.
  5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

 

Chocolate Rose des sables ( Sand roses )

Fifteen minutes preparation, Ten minutes cooking time

Ingredients (Six persons) :

  • Baking Chocolate 9 oz / 250 gr
  • Margarine spread 9 oz / 250 gr
  • Icing sugar 7 oz / 200 gr
  • Corn flakes 17 oz / 500 gr

Preparation :

  1. Melt the chocolate and margarine.
  2. Incorporate out of the heat, the icing sugar.
  3. Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and pour in a good quantity of corn flakes.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Arrange in small piles on a sheet of aluminium foil and place in the fridge for half an hour.
  6. Sand roses will keep for 2 to 3 days in a box in the refrigerator.
